Valerie moved to Brookline from Southern California in July of 2020 to pursue graduate studies at Boston University. She has a passion for both performance and arts administration, focusing her efforts on fundraising and development at BMS. She also manages BMS' marketing and enjoys the creativity and connection to the community she's developed in that role. Valerie holds a BM in Bassoon Performance from San Diego State University, where she studied with San Diego Symphony's Valentin Martchev, and a MM in Bassoon Performance from Boston University, where she studied under Nancy Goeres of the Pittsburgh Symphony.
