The 2022 Summer Flute Institute is an opportunity for flutists ages 8 to adult to engage in interactive group sessions on valuable topics including vibrato and breathing, musical interpretation, and managing performance stress using movement and mindfulness techniques. Flute Institute participants receive one-on-one instruction within the group setting, play in the ensemble, and peruse the instruments and products of Flutistry Boston. BMS faculty members teach this workshop along with two special guest instructors: Boston Conservatory faculty member Sarah Brady, and Wellness Coach and flutist, Jessi Rosinski. Prerequisite: Flutists ages 8 to adult with at least 2 years of study and ability to read music.

Sarah Brady is Associate Professor of Flute and Head of the Contemporary Classical Music Program at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She is the principal flute of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Odyssey Opera and performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and Boston Ballet. A full scholarship student at the University of Connecticut, Sarah went on to study with Robert Willoughby at the Longy School of Music. Jessi Rosinski
works at the intersection of artistry and wellbeing, partnering with artists to cultivate their optimal internal space for creativity and productivity. She is informed by her two decades of experience as a professional flutist, teaching artist, wellness practitioner and guide, drawing on a variety of modalities including mindfulness, yoga, meditation, and breathwork to address the particular needs of creatives. Jessi holds advanced degrees in music, entrepreneurship, and education and has completed multiple training certification programs in mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and conscious leadership.

Fees & Aid

  • There is a once-yearly non-refundable $40 registration fee per family.
  • There is a $20 fee per term for payment plans.
  • No registration fee is charged for summer study.
