Zoe-Rose dePaz is a local violinist, composer, songwriter, bandleader, and educator. With almost 25 years of experience playing the fiddle, Zoe is an expert in violin and improvisational music. A MA teacher certified through EEC since 2015, Zoe is CORI background certified and has over 500+ hours of teaching experience. She taught music, theatre, and art classes for early childhood education at Heath Elementary's Extended Day Program (HEDP) for almost five years, and continues to work with Brookline Early Education Program (BEEP) currently. She is also a teacher at The John Payne Music Center in Brookline Village, where she teaches one-on-one lessons. She is passionate about musical education and early childhood education.
Zoe-Rose is an Americana/Roots musician and has played the fiddle since she was 6 years old. She grew up playing traditional New England folk music (Contra, Irish, and Old Time fiddle) in the hills of Western Massachusetts where she studied with Susan Conger, Jay Ungar, Molly Mason, and David Kaynor. Zoe Rose moved to Boston in 2013 and started to perform her original music shortly after through the Open Mic, D.I.Y., and underground punk scene in the city.
Through her many bands and diverse musical projects over the last 10 years, Zoe Rose has been humbled to share the stage with the likes of Calvin Arsenia, Rushad Eggleston, Karen Tweed, Daryl Anger, Donna Hebért, Bob Pycior (of O’Death), Ramshackle Glory, Rent Strike, Justin Arena, Hawthorn, Evan Greer, Opposition Rising, Pat The Bunny, Days N Daze, Matt Pless, Cousin Boneless, Blackbird Raum, Michael Doucet (of BeauSoleil), Cactus Attack, Town Meeting, and the Charles Overton Group among many, many others. She has recorded with Max Ridley, Prateek, (Boston Music Award winner), Absinthe Rose, The Michael Character, Out of System Transfer, The Hills and The Rivers, among many others. She is a member of Club Passim's Song & Sanctuary Songwriter's Collective along with Naomi Westwater and Nan McMillan.
