In Jane's classes, she imparts her beloved Dalcroze teacher Anne Farber's teachings to encourage students to be curious and discover musical knowledge by themselves. Her classes are fun, positive, and structured. As a collaborative pianist, Jane emphasizes the importance of fluency in ensemble playing and sight-reading. She enjoys teaching all musical styles, from classical to Musical Theatre and pop songs. Her goal is to cultivate the students' love of music and lifelong learning.
Jane has taught private piano for over 10 years. As a graduate of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music system, she has also coached students in taking the board examinations. Besides piano, she also teaches composition for the Cantata Singers, and general music to students in the Adaptive Dance program in Boston Ballet.
Along with her teaching schedule, Jane is a collaborative pianist. She has played for the Boston Ballet School, Jose Mateo Dance Theater, and acted as the musical director for operas and musicals in Boston, NYC, Canada, the UK, and Italy.
