This workshop for teens and adults will be in partnership with BMS and members of the Meadowlark Trio, an acclaimed Boston-based professional chamber music ensemble, and thematically tied to the December 2020 Faculty Artist Series performance by April Sun and guest Janny Joo: “From the heart, may it return to the heart,” featuring Beethoven’s Violin Sonatas No. 1 and 10. Sessions will include masterclasses with faculty members, as well as workshops focused on analyzing the stylistic and formal considerations unique to Beethoven’s Sonatas.
This workshop will inspire participants to become stronger players, meet potential future collaborators, and work closely with some of Boston’s finest professional chamber musicians, all the while building a greater knowledge and appreciation for the chamber music works of Beethoven. Upon completion, participants will create a virtual split-screen performance of their repertoire to be presented as part of our school-wide recital or salon series. Open to individual participants and pre-formed groups that have spent a full semester rehearsing together as part of our year-round chamber program.
