The Flute Seminar offers students of intermediate and advanced levels the opportunity to engage in different areas of flute performance practice within a friendly group setting. This allows for peer input and the chance to explore a particular topic or theme in more depth than can be covered in the weekly private lesson. Topics may include how to prepare for auditions, new ways to approach scale practice, listening to historical flute performers, and exploring extended techniques and other instruments of the flute family. The Flute Seminar will also involve ensemble playing and will provide a safe and supportive space for students to try out their pieces in preparation for upcoming recitals or auditions.
