Group Piano Teacher

Job Description

Brookline Music School (BMS) seeks a GROUP PIANO TEACHER to teach piano classes for children ages 4 and above, beginning in fall 2021.

The successful applicant will have excellent piano and musical skills, an understanding of child development, and preferably experience with Gordon’s Music Learning Theory. Commitment to one weekend teaching day is a must. In-person teaching takes place at our main Kennard House location and at select Public Schools of Brookline locations.

While this position is posted as part-time, there is a possibility this position can be combined with the Coordinator of Group Classes for Young Children position and/or an Early Childhood Music Teacher position to result in a full time position with eligibility for benefits. Job Qualifications

Brookline Music School seeks an individual with a proven record of teaching early childhood music classes and/or piano who is passionate and committed to growing the BMS group piano program through solid pedagogy. Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential in order to represent the school to our students’ families. An undergraduate degree in music education or a related music field is required; a graduate degree or the equivalent is preferred.
