Meet the Instruments

Age 6-9

Based on our very popular summer program, Meet the Instruments introduces your child to a different instrument focus on each of three Saturdays. This introduction to the colorful world of musical instruments is a fun, engaging way to learn about instruments such as cello, clarinet, flute, guitar, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet and violin.

Students will interact with BMS faculty experts to first learn something new about the history and repertoire of each instrument before getting an up-close look, hearing it played live, and playing the instruments. Students emerge excited to begin lessons themselves on one (or more) instruments!

January 7th: GUITAR and PIANO
January 14th
: VIOLIN and WINDS
January 21st:
CELLO and BRASS

Students are guided through the stages of music learning (acculturation, imitation and assimilation) to provide understanding for a lifelong enjoyment of music and to prepare for formal instruction.

Our staff and faculty are skilled in early childhood music development and are happy to discuss any of these programs with you. Contact us at info@bmsmusic.org
