Whether it’s watching students learn, glancing at the happy faces of recital audiences or engaging with the incredibly talented faculty, the joy of music at BMS makes Betsy smile everyday! Having spent the majority of her professional career in nonprofit management, Betsy joined BMS as the Executive Director in 2013 though she was involved with the organization long before that, first as a parent of BMS students, and then as a Board Member. Betsy has held leadership roles in strategic planning, marketing and operations. Her musical education started with piano lessons in Cleveland, Ohio. She then studied harp and has performed in pit orchestras as well as in a community orchestra in Florida.
Betsy is the Treasurer of the Brookline Commission for the Arts and on the Board of Arts Brookline. She has volunteered with other Brookline organizations including the Runkle PTO where she served as Co-President. Betsy has a MBA from Boston University and a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. Immediately after college she worked on the Space Shuttle.
