Grades (1st-5th Grades)
Vocal Discovery offers preparatory vocal training in a group setting for students not old enough for private voice lessons, which typically begin around age 11. Weekly classes focus on building healthy posture and breathing habits while exploring a range of musical styles, from folk to musical theater. Students sing as a group, explore simple harmonies, and are also given the opportunity to sing solo. Each semester, the class works toward a final performance for parents.
Vocal Discovery is designed for students in grades 1 through 5, however class availability for each grade may vary by semester.
Open enrollment for Spring semester begins on January 9. Vocal Discovery Classes have two semesters:
Students registered for classes in Fall Term are automatically reenrolled in Spring Term.

Our Discovering Instruments Classes are based on Music Learning Theory and research on how children learn music. Students are guided through the stages of music learning (acculturation, imitation and assimilation) to provide understanding for a lifelong enjoyment of music and to prepare for formal instruction.
Our staff and faculty are skilled in early childhood music development and are happy to discuss any of these programs with you. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
