Brookline Music School’s 2014-2015 Faculty Artist Series:
In Memoriam by Duo Ibáñez
Sunday, October 19, 2014, 5:00pm at Brookline Music School
Brookline Music School presents In Memoriam with violin faculty, Luis Ibáñez and special guest, pianist, composer, and brother Jorge Ibáñez.
The duo will perform music from their latest CD, In Memoriam, a tribute album to three Bolivian composers – Jose Antonio Ibáñez Rodriguez, father of Duo Ibáñez, as well as mentor Gustavo Navarre, and Jorge Ibáñez himself. The repertoire of Duo Ibáñez includes standard classical sonatas, as well as contemporary music, original works, and arrangements of Latin-American pieces for violin and piano. One of Duo Ibáñez’s primary missions is to expose new audiences to the rich diversity of music written by Bolivian and Latin American composers. The free concert will take place in Brookline Music School’s Bakalar Recital Hall on Sunday, October 19 at 5:00pm.
In Memoriam is the first concert in the Brookline Music School’s 2014-2015 Faculty Artist Series. The series will continue with Sunday concerts at 4:00pm on:
