General Registration & Payment Information

Schedule
Brookline Music School has a 32-week private lesson schedule with one semester of 16 weeks and a second semester of 15 weeks plus an Evaluation Workshop week, and follows the Brookline public school calendar. Group lessons and ensembles run 15 weeks per semester, unless otherwise noted.

Fall Term begins Thursday, September 6, 2007
Spring Term begins Friday, January 25, 2008

2008 Re-registration Info
We are re-registering private lesson and ensemble students for Term II and bills will be sent starting the week of Dec. 10.
Payment for Term II is due January 15, 2008 - this is also the deadline for withdrawal.

Enrollment & Registration
To enroll in private lessons or classes, new students are required to complete and return a registration form, also available from the Office or from our website. Forms may be dropped off, mailed or faxed to Brookline Music School. Returning students may call to re-register. A deposit of four lessons plus a non-refundable registration fee is required to secure a lesson time. Full payment will be required before the start of lessons (see below). Non-refundable registration fees are $30 per person or $45 per family, and are payable once yearly. Students may enroll at any point during the year. If you are registered for Term I, you will be re-registered for Term II automatically. If you do not wish to continue, please let the Office know prior to January 1, 2008.

Payment
There are two payment options available:
1. Pay in full one week before the first lesson
2. Pay by monthly automatic credit card deduction.  An additional administrative fee of $10 will be charged to your card per semester.

2007-2008 Private Tuition Rates

30 minutes      $600         $1200
45 minutes      $840         $1680
60 minutes      $1080       $2160

All students pay an annual registration fee: $30/person, $45/family.

Discounts
Is your family enrolling for more than one course this term? Multiple enrollments receive a discount of 10% for full-term enrollment only. In all cases, discounts apply to the less expensive course.
10% discount is available to:
t  Senior Citizens (60 years & older)
t  Town of Brookline Employees
15% discount is available to:
t  Brookline Public School Teachers

No multiple discounts will be given; in the case of two potential discounts, the higher discount applies.

Scholarship Program
Scholarships based on financial need are available. Application forms may be obtained from the Office and are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee during the summer and at mid-year. A complete copy of the most recent tax return must be included with your application. Renewal is contingent upon teacher and Scholarship Committee evaluations.

Delinquent Accounts
Brookline Music School reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction of any student who is delinquent in fulfilling financial obligations. An additional billing charge will be added to overdue accounts. Delinquent accounts referred for collection will be liable for all collection fees and costs.

Evaluation Week
One week in the spring term is devoted to an evaluation week for all private instruction students.  In order for all students and faculty to participate, the evaluation will take the place of the private lesson the week of April 14-19 (March 26-30 for British School students).
