Policies
Absences
Students taking private
lessons receive one excused absence per semester. An absence is excused if the
Office and teacher are notified no later than 10:00am on the day of the missed
lesson. This absence will be made up at the end of the term. All teacher
absences will be made up or a refund will be issued. One snow day per term will
be made up. Missed classes or ensembles will not be made up unless the class is
cancelled due to a teacher absence or inclement weather.
Injuries
Please notify the Office immediately of any injuries which might affect lessons.
Tardiness
Because of the faculty’s full schedules, students who are late for a lesson can
not be guaranteed their full lesson time. Faculty will wait ten minutes for a
student; students are asked to do the same. Faculty tardiness will be made up at
a mutually convenient time.
Withdrawals & Refunds
Private lessons
may be terminated for any reason before the fourth scheduled lesson, and a refund will be
issued for the remainder of tuition that has been paid. Absence after the third
lesson without notification does not release students from the obligation to pay
for the semester. Classes or ensembles may be terminated for any reason before
the second meeting and a refund will be issued for the remainder of tuition that
has been paid.
Cancellation of Classes/Ensembles
Brookline Music School reserves the right to cancel any class or ensemble due to
insufficient enrollment.
Non-Discrimination Statement
Brookline Music School does not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual
orientation, race, national origin, creed, age, physical or mental disability,
religion, veteran-status, ancestry, genetic information, or any other protected
characteristic.

mutually convenient to the teacher and the student. An absence is excused if the
